What, McK's gone already? Dang, I wanted to say hi.
And to all of you who don't remember me, I'm from way back. I posted the continuation from the first 100 with the corpse on the porch? Haven't been around in ages, but I used to go by the moniker "kis" and was known to have a bit of a thing for expandable cruise missile tattoos... Sorry about the flirting--I am shameless, and those mutton chops just really do it for me.
Hi also Whitemouse/goblin/JJ, Brenda Bradshaw and all those dudes from the COM.
Definitely I'm still a few rounds behind. Oh, well.
Yes, EE, I am the same Jeb I have always been. Don't know about 'lots' of continuations, though... I only remember a few.
Something is wrong with my brain lately (or maybe it's just a tax-filing hangover) because I can't continue anything these days, and even my GTP's are feeble.
Is the solution more time in the bar, or less?
I used to be a demon with a limerick (was weaned on Isaac Asimov's wee tome of same). Will head over there for a bit and try to work my hand in.
Hey kis! Well if you're the kirsten that's after EE I might have to let you in on the gang, because I like you, gosh darn it.
Hey wonderwood! Stick and Move, Jeb, Julie, hey all of you!
I've got about ten minutes, then I have to do some parenting for a couple of hours. May make it back just before your bedtimes! So let's make my ten minutes fun!
Kis, I promise I'll visit your blog once the dust dies down on this huge party. I don't know why I haven't been there already. Bad manners probably. Anybody else want a visit while I'm redeeming myself?
Well, oh woody one, the sun is trying to come out, but it's failed pretty much every day this month, so why would it succeed today? Don't believe all your read about endless sunshine... Although the kids have never seen snow!
Kis, I have no idea, but down below there's a thread for ye olde minions, lamenting the many Lost Ones!
Yup, smut. And you're right, it was hanging with D what corrupted me. I was a total innocent before her, and don't let EE tell you otherwise. I only propositioned him a couple of times, and we never did get around to that three-way with Miss Snark.
I was just going to do a little smut for the pub cred, but it's so much fun I'm having a hard time going back to the tamer stuff.
Cool on the agent, McK! YA is really competitive from what I've heard. Is it your selkie story?
Thanks Wonderwood, they ain't big books and they won't make me rich, but I'm getting good feedback so far.
Kirsten, you are selling smut???? I am SO going to check out your website (as soon as I write some limericks, honest - except... smutty limericks? Are we an 18A establishment?)
Dude, I stepped away from it for a while and just now getting back to it. No closer to knowing the outcome, so I'm just gonna pick up where I left off and see if some inspiration sneaks up on me.
Two of EE's queries garnered publishing contracts, through e-publishers. One (The Space Between, sharks and all!) has gone to print and I think I sold - oh, about twenty so far.
The second, the hockey romantic suspense Bad Ice will be released in July by Champagne Books. You may have read some of the opening pages at the Crapometer. There are no sharks under the Zamboni, however.
Oh, Kis, it was e-published first then trade paperback. I'm told it could be in stores in the States, but I have a tough time with Canadian distribution. It sucks big time.
I'm kind of ambivalent about print, chumplet. My royalty on ebooks is like 40%. Even from secondary retailers, I make almost twice what I will on print, so...
It's nice to have the book, tho, and Samhain is pretty good about getting their titles in stores. E-sales is where most of my money will probably come from, but you get to reach a wider readership by having hard copy in stores.
Right now I'm watchig nothing but hockey, hockey, hockey!
I'm glad you're published, too, kis. And best of luck and a round of drinks to everyone! I'll use my latest royalty cheque. Will twelve dollars cover it?
Speaking of writers of TV shows, I have great admiration for Aaron Sorkin. I thought the dialogue on West Wing was great and I even enjoyed that recent failure (kinda SNL behind-the-scenes?). Also liked his earlier stuff in "Sports Talk"?? not sure about the title. Any other Sorkin fans? ME
I'd like to see "The Wire" on HBO, George Pelecanos is one of the writers, but I don't have HBO. Kind of a bummer. I'm reading his books at the moment, though.
And I'm the least Canadian Canadian out there. I hate hockey. Of course, I'm stuck with the Canucks. When we have a team, we have no goalie, when we have a goalie, we have no team. See, even though I hate hockey, I'm still up on the home team. Sad.

Dang', my post got swallowed on the shift. How about "savant"?
Time for my break, back at 10PM. (1 hr.)
Hey Wood- check out the contests!
Have you done the contests, Wonderwood?
Robin and I obviously have only one thing on our minds once EE skeedaddles...
He must have seen me coming...
He didn't even acknowledge the heart felt compliment I paid him... After I put myself out there like that. The nerve.

Well, blast. I have such good timing. Just missed him.
*Goes off to improve aim.
Personally, I think "savant" is brilliant, Woody.
Definitely I'm still a few rounds behind. Oh, well.

Hi Phoenix, I've not done the contests yet, I've been catching up on the posts, working that way. I did read the story, too.
EE will be backat 10:00 pm - so stick around!
Wood - I'd repost your comment with a cut and paste - here- when he gets back!
Hi Kirsten- you were here way before me, then!
weredingo

Hiya McKoala! What's it like on the other side of the world?
Back soon- gotta pick up Blondie from a class.
See you soon, Robin. Drive safely.
Hey, here's a question for all us real old fogies: Whatever became of Urnamma[sp?]?
Kirsten, that must have been before my time. I found the EE blog about a year and a half ago.
Well, oh woody one, the sun is trying to come out, but it's failed pretty much every day this month, so why would it succeed today? Don't believe all your read about endless sunshine... Although the kids have never seen snow!

McK, I don't have a blog--I do have a website, tho. And a book. And another coming out in summer. I have been a busy little bee.
*Warning* My contracted books are teh smut. Maybe that's why I can't get my mind out of the gutter...
-kis
Robin...driving?!
OK, I'll check out the website.
Smut, eh. Guess you've been hanging out with December...
I have an agent now! One of my YA novels is out with editors at the moment. Tenterhook city.
That's not the title of the novel. It's the title of my feelings!
Congratulations on landing an agent, McKoala! And congrats to you on your success, KIS!
Thank you WW. I bet Kis has gone to check out the oldies. A year and a half makes you one of the originals too, I think.
I sure have seen a lot of the minions improve their skills over that time, no doubt.

I've learnt heaps from EE, Miss Snark and all the minions and snarklings. It's been like a writing class for me.
That's the one, fingers crossed! My agent has another manuscript of mine to read, too, so here's hoping she likes that one as well.
Sorry, got to go and take the kids out! Will catch up later...
Good news, Kirsten and McKoala!
Kirsten, you are selling smut???? I am SO going to check out your website (as soon as I write some limericks, honest - except... smutty limericks? Are we an 18A establishment?)
Did everybody go home?
I was running around looking for Kis, but I've poured myself a nice rye and ginger ale, so.... Hiya!
Hiya Chumplet
I'm here too!
ME
Hiya BT! Chumplet!
Ack, that stupid bogger, if it was a person I'd rip its head off and shove it down its neck-hole. Eat my comments, see what you get!
jeb, I don't know whether we're PG-13 or what, but I just posted a simile that made this purveyor of filth blush, so...
And yes, smut. Dirty, filthy, sordid, steamy heroic fantasy. Mmmm...
hey, chumplet!
I'm supposed to be writing (I'm an idiot and promised my editor a finished ms by saturday, but this is too much fun!)
On my second old style pilsner. I could only be more stereotypically Canuck if I was drinking Molson Canadian.
-kis
Hi ME, Kirsten, Wood. Oh, I see Stick is here too.
It's so nice to see you again Kis! I missed ya!
Don't feel you have to drink Canadian. It sucks. Better to go for a nice micro brew.
Hiya BT! I thought I'd drop in and see what's going on, you know, kinda keep an eye on things.
WOW! Six rounds!!!
You guys are amazing!!!
I have to get breakfast for the kids, but will be back.
Yeah, Stick and Move was here. That dude is pretty clever.
How's the MS coming along, Wood?
This is so weird. Half of us are close to bedtime and the other half are getting breakfast!
Micro brew, nah! I'm too cheap a drunk for that.
It's been forever--how you been? I'm seeing so many new names here, I must have wandered away a long time ago...
Dude, I stepped away from it for a while and just now getting back to it. No closer to knowing the outcome, so I'm just gonna pick up where I left off and see if some inspiration sneaks up on me.
Dang, is there any liquor left? I need all the clear ones as I drink Long Island Iced Teas.
Kisses WW! Long time no see.
I'm still recovering from the knee shot.
I'm baaaaaack.
Hey Brenda! How are you? Keeping the cowboys in line?
I hear ya, WW.
Dig the avatar, man. I need to get rid of this pic and replace it with something, but I'm pretty lazy when it comes to stuff like that.
It is taking a while to read through all these comments. Wow!
Yeehaw, WW *grin* Whatcha think?
How have YOU been? WHERE have you been?

I'm good, thanks. I've been lurking a lot, keeping it on the down low. Working on the WIP again and trying to keep myself out of trouble.
I'm back. I won't tell who went home on Idol so those taping it can be surprised.
Hi guys-
I'm back in the house - back with you in 15 minutes or so...
JEB had ten pieces in ND1 and one in ND2. Not sure if they were all continuations.
Savant, yes, fitting, wood.
Hiya EE! No worries on the Idol thing, not a viewer this season. So, who got kicked off?
"I'm back. I won't tell who went home on Idol so those taping it can be surprised."
Can you give us a list of those who didn't go home?
Thanks, dude. I thought it fitting.
Wahoo, Chumplet!
When you say "gone to print", do you mean published, or a dead tree version in stores? Cause some epubs, like mine, do both.
Crossing Swords released in March, but won't be in print until January or so. Healer's Touch comes out in August. CS2 is slated for November.
I'm not a fan of reality shows. I did get sucked into the first year of Rock Star INXS.
Oh, Kis, it was e-published first then trade paperback. I'm told it could be in stores in the States, but I have a tough time with Canadian distribution. It sucks big time.
I didn't post my queries on EE, but I did learn the craft from hanging there, so I have to give him the big hug of gratitude.
...and maybe a cheap grope.
Sorry. *ducks*
I used to watch Cowboy U because I am sadistic and it tickled me.
Then I watched one of the bachelor shows with the cowboy because he rodeoed with my son.
Most recently the Biggest Loser.
*nudges EE
So is that really your knee?
I'm kind of ambivalent about print, chumplet. My royalty on ebooks is like 40%. Even from secondary retailers, I make almost twice what I will on print, so...

I don't watch any of those. And they say I watch too much?
Hate reality shows. Perhaps this is because I hate reality...
Depends. Do you like it?
I normally listen to Celtic music at night. If I can catch House, that makes me a happy camper, though.
New Houses start Monday.
Oh, my, yes.
*wipes drool off mouth
That is, by far, the sexiest denim clad knee I have ever seen.
House, yay!
Life, yay!
Reruns of Rome, yay!
Dexter, yay!
Wonderful! Thanks for the heads up.
Do you ever wonder about the writers for that show? They have to be interesting people.
I think it makes me look fat.
I like House, but never get a chance to see it. My list is:
Men in Trees
CSI (Las Vegas)
How I Met Your Mother
Boston Legal
Ugly Betty
Hockey
Hockey
Hockey
*Eyes Kirsten.
Get your own knee, durn it!
Blasted knee jumpers these days.
ME
No, it's perfection, EE.
*Eyes Kirsten.
Get your own knee, durn it!
Blasted knee jumpers these days.
Perhaps we could collaborate? I am writing a, um.... interesting polyamorous story as we speak.
*bad Kirsten! behave!*
I think it was Sports Night. That was a good show. Haven't watched his other stuff.
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip - Matthew whats his name. Brilliant!
I have to admit I don't even pay attention to who the writers are. I just enjoy that off-the-wall wit in House.
Oh, I like Psyche, too.
Dang, what a televsion whore I am.
I agree. Perfection.
I'd like to see "The Wire" on HBO, George Pelecanos is one of the writers, but I don't have HBO. Kind of a bummer. I'm reading his books at the moment, though.
The knee. EE's.
BT- I loved Sports Night.
Sorry, Kirsten, I don't play well with others.
My, knee, all mine.
As it happens, I have two knees.
Almost forgot about Boston Legal.
And I'm the least Canadian Canadian out there. I hate hockey. Of course, I'm stuck with the Canucks. When we have a team, we have no goalie, when we have a goalie, we have no team. See, even though I hate hockey, I'm still up on the home team. Sad.
Robin, I feel guilty for even doing this and I doubt anyone will get it but...
It's just the EE's knees of perfections.
Do they look the same?
I get the left!
I got it, sweetie.
Yes! Two knees.
Runs off to stake claim on adjoining knee.
Rats!
Yes, but did you file your claim with the Bureau of Knee Management?
Hey WW- I don't get HBO either, sweetie.
Does anyone here besides me have the Golf Channel on A LOT in their house?
EE's Knees Is The Bees Knees.
Robin, Kirs, hope you are content with the knees. Me, I'm waiting on the adult content.
ME
Robin, I'm really sorry about not getting Martha and Tilley at EE's party up sooner. I was afraid of spoiling the surprise and had to go to work.
I thought the Golf Channel was just a myth.
Golf?!! And they say I'm sick...
Hold on thaaaar just a gosh-darned minute, ME!
Both knees look the same, but the left one is attached to a pegleg.
Adult content? We get adult content?
Wait! There's gonna be adult content?!!
*rubbing hands together with glee*
Ok. Holding. Squeezing gently.
ME
I love golf - I just don't want it blasting away at me night after husbadly night.
As long as we don't have to see the banana sundae.
Ooh, definitely left for me, then!
Yarrr! Peglegs. Do you have a patch, too?
On your knees over in Round 7, please. One minute warning ...
EE- can we have some of your adult content?
Banana sundae - oh babyyy.
What kind of pegleg, precisely. What are the measurements...
In return for yours?
On my knees? Now there's something I haven't heard in a while.
The Golf Channel is also in high definition. It looks pretty in boring detail.
Oh, of course in return!
